Stuff That Makes Me Laugh – Dr. Who? Dr. What?

Catherine Tate and David Tennant in a sketch for Comic Relief. Brilliant, innit?

And Now For Something Completely Different:
How smart is your right foot? Try this:

1) Without anyone watching you (because they will think you are weird), and while sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles. Keep going.

2) Now, while doing this, draw the number 6 in the air with your right hand.

3) Notice that your foot CHANGES DIRECTIONS. And there’s NOTHING you can do about it. (Unless you slow your foot down so dramatically that you can in fact force it to do what you want, but that sort of defeats the purpose of the whole exercise. Not to mention, the hand drawing the 6 will get a bit wonked-out.)

4) Realize that for the past 30 seconds you’ve been doing something I told you to do, thereby proving that I possess mind-control powers. You may stop rotating your foot now.

ANNNNNND, Back to David Tennant. Being weird. Without lifting his right foot off the floor. (Too bad Daniel Day Lewis didn’t know about that exercise above; then he could have made a movie called “My Right Foot.”)

Laugh, my children! Laugh and be free!

My greatest pleasure in life has been raising my four excellent children--some of whom liked me so much that they keep coming back. My second greatest pleasure has been doing whatever I can to make people laugh and create bright moments. I hope to do a bit more good in the world before I go the way of it. And if not, I'd better at least get to spend some serious time writing and singing in a castle somewhere in the UK.
