Redbox is such a great deal. Unless you keep thinking that it’s a great deal for 6 days and forget to return your dvd for that long. Then, it’s a great deal for Redbox.
Wonder what it is about rental/check-out deadlines that I can’t make them? I mean, take the Library for instance. You get a month to read your books. A month. I can read those suckers in a few days. And that’s reading them in spurts whilst performing my morning, erm, water-closet-rituals. (Hey, I’m a mom. The restroom is the only place I can read without constant interruptions.) So why can’t I return a book to the Library on time? I have racked up enough library fees over the years to start my own Amazon/Book Division.
I have the same problem with dvd rentals. And it is worse with things like Redbox where its a dollar a dvd and I think, Hey! It’s only a dollar. If it’s one day late, what the hey, baybay?
THAT’S IT! It’s that whole Lets-give-the-consumer-a-great-deal-so-they’ll-relax-and-forget-about-turning-things-in-and-then-we’ll-charge-late-fees-and-that’s-how-we’ll-make-most-of-our-money-heh-heh-heh. They give us plenty of time, make it easy, make it cheap. Lull us into a state of security, then they RIP the wallet out from under us!
Okay, you rental/bookborrowing institutions. I’m on to you. From now on I’m returning everything EARLY.
Hah. Guess I showed you.
One word: Netflix
Actually, 14 more words: Buy used books for cheap. You can always donate the ones you don't like.
Ah, yeah. I really should look into that. Those. Both.
